Dreidel Meets Cornhole & Shuffleboard

*The Tournament:
The 2012 Target Tops Tournament is a 16-Team Doubles Spin-Off. People can sign-up their doubles team by emailing info@majorleaguedreidel.com with their witty Team Name (e.g. Dreidel Robbers, The Spinsations, Show Me The Gelt). The winning team will take home the famous MLD Crystal Dreidel Trophy, a year supply of chocolate gelt and their very own bottle of MLD Honey Crisp Apple Vodka.
*The Game:
Target Tops is without a doubt the most fun dreidel game ever "spinvented". Played on an 8-foot long custom table, players must spin the dreidel from one side to the other with finesse, control and consistency. The goal is to land the dreidel in the scoring zone, the closer to the edge the higher the points awarded for that spin. There is a small cup on both sides of the table, which is worth the most points. When a player sinks their dreidel into this cup it's called a "Spinny Dip".
*Other Spincredible Details:
To make the competition sweeter, MLD will be serving up Libbe's Latkes and Yonah Schimmel Knishes. There will also be a giant dreidel ice luge. Yes, a dreidel made of ice that will chill MLD's house-made apple vodka shots! For the kid in all of us there will also be a Paint-Your-Own-Dreidel station. As for festive holiday music, Gods of Fire's "Hanukkah Gone Metal" will be played during the tournament (WARNING: IT WILL MELT YOUR GELT).
*Doughnations
All money raised by Latke and Knish "doughnations" will go to Playworks. Playworks reduces playground bullying and conflicts and improves school climate through fun, healthy, inclusive games and physical activity.
*The Great Trick Dreidel
MLD's newest spinvention is The Great Trick Dreidel and they will be available at this event. They are hand-branded by MLD volunteers and all proceeds from Great Trick Dreidel sales goes to Toys of Hope, which provides toys, books, clothing and other items to needy and homeless children and their families.
