The Church Avenue BID and chef David Sheridan (of the soon-to-open Wheated cocktail lounge/pizza restaurant) are seeking food-loving volunteers for a special cooking clinic to create a delicious Italian meal for 75-100 people at the Flatbush Reformed Churchs soup kitchen. The event is part of the BIDs new food program, From Roti to Rhubarb: The Food of Church Avenue. We are seeking volunteers for two shifts, as well as dessert donations and home-made table decorations.
Volunteer shifts are:
Sat. Nov. 17 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
Sat. Nov. 17 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Volunteers must be over age 18.
Dessert donations (home-made or purchased) and home-made table decorations (great way for kids to get involved!) can be delivered to the BIDs office at 884 Flatbush Ave. off Church Ave. between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. from Wed. Nov. 14 through Fri. Nov. 16. The meal will be prepared and served at the Church House of the Flatbush Reformed Church, enter on Church Avenue between Flatbush Ave. and E. 21st Street.

David Sheridan is chef and owner of Church Avenues soon-to-open cocktail lounge/gourmet pizza restaurant, Wheated (Church Ave. off Coney Island Ave.) where it will join a burgeoning restaurant row including Lark Cafe, Zagat-rated Am Thai, El Acuario, and roti-expert Shaynas.

Interested volunteers, dessert-bakers, and decoration-makers, should email the BID at info@churchavenue.org or call 718-282-2500, x63234 with their name, phone number, and how they want to be involved. Questions should be directed to the BID at info@churchavenue.org or 718-282-2500, x63234.
