Join New York Citys civic, cultural, and community leaders in honoring Dr. Kings life and legacy. Presented by BAM, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, and Medgar Evers College, this years celebration includes performances by Fort Greene/Clinton Hills own Brooklyn Interdenominational Choir, and husband-and-wife R&B duo Kindred the Family Soul.

Most notably, this 27th annual tribute features a keynote address by legendary musician and humanitarian Harry Belafonte. Mr. Belafontes personal commitment to social activism and his close friendship with Dr. King make him an ideal conduit for the reverends memory and message.

Included in this years festivities is a live simulcast of the 57th presidential inauguration commencing the historic second term of President Barack Obama.

Tickets are free and will be distributed on a first-come, first-seated basis starting at 8am in the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House lobby.
